The Celebration of Philippine 110th Independence Day
web designer productions

Philippine Declaration of Independence occurred on June 12, 1898 in the Philippines, where Filipino revolutionary forces under General Emilio Aguinaldo (later to become the Philippines’ first Republican President) proclaimed the sovereignty and independence of the Philippine Islands from the colonial rule of Spain after the latter was defeated at the Battle of Manila Bay during the Spanish-American War.

The declaration, however, was not recognized by the United States or Spain, as the Spanish government ceded the Philippines to the United States in the 1898 Treaty of Paris, in consideration for an indemnity for Spanish expenses and assets lost.

While the Philippines first celebrated its Independence Day on June 12, its independence was only recognized on July 4, 1946 by the United States. Henceforth, Independence Day was observed on July 4, but in the name of nationalism, and upon the advice of historians, Republic Act No. 4166 was signed into law by President Diosdado Macapagal in 1964, proclaiming June 12, which up to that time had been observed as Flag Day, as Independence Day.

Designing a Blog

From a hobby, now a habbit. A well-matched blog and design always comes in pair. Here are couples of criteria in designing a blog.

design blog

1. User-Friendly. A great Blog doesn’t tend visitors to click the [x] mark or holding ALT + F4 in keyboard just because your Blog loads too slow. Your Blog should not have couple of Media or Images (Youtube, Imeem) embed in your blog post that could make readers browsers slower. Remember that there are still Dial-up users.

2. Browser Compatiblity. Browsing Statistics says that Firefox has become popular, but still Internet Explorer is the common browser. Continue Reading Tutorial!

Photos I used: A photo of Wu Chun which is half body only, and I just merged it with men’s black jeans. Of course my photo on a sofa, and edited it sitting on the garden bench. Then added the background.

THE GALILEO’S INCREDIBLE STORY
My younger brother with his greatest dream to become a programmer.

xsabrina.chic: Dreamer

He started to make use of a computer 8 years of age. Knowing how does the computer runs and how does it work in our daily lives. He asked my father when sitting in the front of computer and designing in Bryce 3D, “Papa ano yan?” (in english “Papa what is that?”). And that was the first time my father teaches my brother to use computer.

With his curiosity, he began to learned different type of computer matter. Started to use Bryce 3D, also the True Space and how to renovate the computer bugs. I was actually thinking of this little boy on what was really makes him stay in front of computer within 8 hours. Nobody teaches him, just my father. Until I discover his talent in managing the computer programs.

Improving him self until now, brings him to a great achievement. Stepping on the college life when he was 1st year (taking up BS in Computer Science), he started to join the programming competition at STI College Marikina. A programming competition which is for Junior and Senior College student only but he was qualified as Freshman student. It was his first time to join a programming competition with the other branches of STI. The first joining, the first time he won. He stated as MVP freshman student in programming competition. He received a gold medal, certificate and a cash of prize. The day of school’s recognition, he also received 10 medals as a Best in all of his subjects. I was really amazed with my brother. How I wish I could be like him, but I only received 2 medals as a Champion and a Placer for Web Page Design competitions.

At present, he continuing on what he started, and I am proud to say that he already joined us sisters to manage our website vixenart.net. He work as our programmer, and made his own Content Management System (CMS) with the use of PHP and CGI. But this is dedicated only for our website. We are really thankful for his efforts, and because of him, we are now receiving 1000+ visitors, and unique hits of 42,000+ in Google Analytics.

Believing that this is the start of his achievements, the start of his dream to become a professional programmer one day. Wishing that his dreams will come true.
